A great variety of tumors arise in the soft tissues of the limbs and the trunk which interest most of surgeons. Some of these are true neoplasms, whereas others are reactive or degenerative in nature.
The authors analysed 136 patient with masses developed form the soft tissue around the knee, excluding masses from the tissue, at the Guro hospital, Korea University Colege of Medicine from September, 1983 to december, 1992.
Most of soft tissue tumors around the knee apear benign characteristics (97%) and malignant tumors were Hemengioenthelioma in 2 cases, Ewing´s sarcoma in 1 case and Rhabdomyosarcoma in 1 case. Deep seated, localized hemangioma were hardly
diagnosed
prepoeratively even though they complained persistent symptoms.
